Apart from the practical need to move from home to complete their schooling, boarding away from home can be a great experience for young people and a great character building exercise. It can also be a daunting, anxious and challenging time for both student and parents as they leave their comfort zone and move into the peculiar world of "boarding". As much as boarding tends to replicate the basic frame work of the family home, there are broader aspects of communal living and teenagers en mass that makes for a unique way of life and of raising a child.
